I knew this day would come. Wife gave me the go ahead to buy a 26.75 Weber :clap2:. I've been eying one for a few years now but she told me i must thin the heard of a cooker or two before making the purchase :cry:. I'm thinking about parting ways with my UDS and my Blackstone Pizza Oven. The oven is kind of a no brainer... I got an incredible close-out deal on it at Lowes (like $75 + shipping) which was pretty much why I bought it to begin with. I've had it for a year now and have only used it probably 5 or so times. I'm just not as into pizza making as i thought I would be and honestly I always fark up the pies on the Blackstone, I tend to burn the bottoms. I keep going back and forth on the UDS though, its my only "set it and forget it" style of cooker but after buying the Shirley it rarley gets used. It has come in handy a few times when people want pulled pork, especially at earlier gatherings, like anything before 4pm. I can set it up to cook the night before or super early and then go back to sleep and get some rest, something that i cant really do with the Shirley. Just not sure if that makes it worth keeping or not. Right now I'm leaning towards getting rid of both and then the next time she wants me to smoke some butts super early i will explain to her why we need to buy an insulated cabinet to compliment Big MO Shirley....:thumb:

Just my $.01, but I would reconsider getting rid of the Blackstone pizza oven. It's been a game changer for me and lots of others on this forum. If the bottom of your crust is burning, are you checking the temp of the stone before you put the pie on the stone? I also check the bottom of the pie every 20 seconds or so after about a minute and they always come out perfectly. Like any cooker, it takes a bit of practice, and what can really help is consulting with seasoned users who have mastered the cooker, of which there are many here who are more than happy to help you troubleshoot.

I put some thought into it. I mean, i know the reason I've farked up the pies was just not enough time put into learning that cooker like is needed to produce good food off it. Ahh sh!t, might just keep them all! It certainly has crossed my mind to just replace the 22.5 Weber with the 26.75 and see if she even notices the difference.... Lol. What new cooker? I'm going to give the 22.5 to one of my employees who just bought his first house .

I can't be of any help to you...it's your decision.
BUT If it were me, I'd keep the UDS and get rid of the pizza oven. :grin:

Good luck with what ever you decide to do!

Ok I am a Safety Professional so I always inadvertently look at things to determine what the "Root Cause" is, I would keep all my cookers and get rid of the wife figuratively speaking of course. If you remove your wife from the equation, would you get rid of these items? Probably not. Remember its easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask permission. Get the 26.75, and when asked about which one you are going to get rid of just stall and play dumb, say things like, I'm in the selection process. Technically you wont be lying at some point even if its 5 years down the road you will have to get rid of something from normal wear and tear.

First, I can empathize with the wife situation as I have the exact same situation at home right now. I am trying to figure out which Weber I am going to get rid of.

I don't own an UDS, but even if you get rid of it, you can still use the 26" or one of your 22" cookers as a set and forget it cooker. I have done a ton of pork butts on a regular kettle using the snake method and the temps stay pretty solid.

I like how you operate my man!

This is true but with a UDS and 2 grates I can get 6-8 butts on there depending on how big they are. Anyway, now I'm leaning towards just not getting rid of anything except the 22.5 Weber.... I just needed a little reassurance from my bretheren :thumb:

You Just HAVE to get the 26.75 you will love it.. very versatile.

Butts ! :becky::clap2:

18 lb Brisket !:clap2::becky:

You can cook alot on them the xtra space makes its nice. Just my .02

I would part with the older 22" and maybe as a gesture of goodwill the pizza oven. If you don't use it that often. And you can build or buy the stuff to do pizzas on a Weber or UDS if you want pizza.

Can you just get rid of one of your 22's? I figure that's the most redundant cooker. You're not losing anything by trading a 22 for a 26 since you have another 22. I'd keep the Uds over the pizza oven. You can make pizza in an oven or a kettle, a uds is a uds and not like any of the other cookers you have.

I agree with...

One of the 22's and the pizza oven. Then you have extra room down the road. Even though others you have are portable too, IMnotalwaysHO a UDS is more versatile and portable than the 22's. I built mine to use at home and for travel

Seriously. You need a Blackstone Griddle. Put all these fabricated jettison cooker emergencies on hold. Get a flat top.

I use my big weber 90% of the time.

Heck give up milk for the kids but do not sell the pizza oven! :mrgreen:
