Just got our power back after 30 hours because of an ice storm.
As far as I can tell the pancakes do not get greasy, at least they don't taste greasy. They are really moist though, but not falling apart. As a note I usually make the pancakes the night before and they go into the fatty cold. Don't know if that makes any difference, just how I do it. Thanks for all the good words and a fatty throw-down is fun for all.

THAT looks mighty tasty!!

Just a curious question, does the pancake soak up any of the grease
while it's cooking and get mushy and greasy?
Is there a way to avoid it if it does?

Gotta try this!

AVOID IT??? Have you lost your mind? I'll pm you my address so you can send me all of your extra pork fat juices. Somethin' wrong with people that avoid all that grease soakin' up into your pancakes or biscuits or cereal or whatever you're eating:eek:

amen brother

Usually I have the cooker at about 225*, but 250 is OK too. I cook them to 160* and at 225* seems to take about an hour and a half. At 250* an hour sounds about right for time.

What would happen if you took some good ol' Pillsbury refrigerate biscuit dough and put it in there instead of the pancakes? Would it ever get done since they normally cook at 350 - 375 in the oven? ...or wrap the fatty in biscuit dough on the outside and put it in the oven...redneck beef wellington!

sausage and panckes all in one figure out a way to get a cup of coffee in there and you are done!

I tried a blueberry fatty a few weeks ago and turned out pretty good. Thanks for the idea!

I wonder how peach or chocolate mix would be....yummy

I should have known that anything that occurred to me would have already been done by the Brethren. Once I manage to do an acceptable fatty, I am going to try that.
