I love salmon so when I cook it, I usually smoke a whole side.
This lasts me for several meals.
On this one, I used some of Brethren Wickedcajun's PookieG SaWeet rub, (good stuff!), then into the HB with a little alder and the hot coal rack lowered to the "smoke" level.
had a simple salmon supper that night...
added some of the smokey salmon to my eggs the next morning..
made a couple of smokey salmon patties thanks to 16Adams and TuscaloosaQ Paul's recent posts...
I like to coat them in panko before frying in butter...
I love these things!
next I made a batch of smokey salmon lasagna...
made a basic white sauce with butter, minced scallions, garlic, flour, cream, seasonings...
layered my salmon lasagna with pasta, sauce, a little smoked cheese and the smokey salmon...
made several layers then baked til hot and bubbly...
I love this stuff, it's smokey, gooey and salmoney. Kind of a comfort food for me.
By the time I get through the whole salmon side, I'm usually ready for a meal of beef or pork. :grin:
