Bbq iq with uds intake question who's in the know

Maiden voyage with new IQ and my UDS. I was going to remove the vertical black pipe on my UDS and I purchased a grey plastic 12" long heavy duty pvc attachment from Lowes that will screw into the black pipe 90 degree bend coming out of the bottom side of my UDS. The rubber hose from the IQ fits nicely. Do you think the grey pcv will endure the heat?

Just wondering..... Why do you want to replace the black pipe ?
BTW, the vertical black pipe on my UDS never even gets really warm, so you should be ok.

I have a brass valve on the black pipe for normal cooks. The IQ fits nicely to a 3/4" pipe and it is easier and less expensive to remove the black pipe which is 3 feet long and screw in the 12" plastic pvc pipe which cost $1.57. I also thought the flow would be better with a shorter pipe. But will it melt hmmmmmm?

I use a pvc ball valve on a short brass 90 and it does not get hot so you should be ok.
