Planning on a trip to Long Island (Wading River) on Labor Day weekend to visit out daughter, SIL, and grandbaby. Wanted to stop in and check out the Restaurant Depot(bringing mega cooler) since alot of you have good things to say about there quality of meat. I went to thier website, and while it states membership is free and open to the public, it says you need a business license, or proof that you are with a non profit organization. Will a business card cut it?? I don't have my catering licence yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

From their website:

You need a business lic. or something that has your Federal Tax Id#...

A business card won't work as far as I know. Also, you can save a lot of time by filling out the application online, and they will give you a coupon to use too.

If you become a member... remember to wear a jacket and long pants. You'll understand why once you go.

If any of those days works for you just let me know the day and time that works for you and I can meet you at the store. Called them to make sure they didn't have holiday hours, said there closed monday but that's it. Thanks!!

They are open in St. Louis now too....

and you will need a business license.

I got in with a ficticious biz name statement and the ATM from my biz account.

They open in Sacramento in November. Business license for "made up" business now on list of things to do.

I signed up online this past Saturday and received a call on Tuesday from someone at the closest one in Philly. I explained that I had an EIN#, but didn't have it available as I was on the road but did not have a business license yet. He said that he would send a membership card in the mail, but that I would eventually have to get one. I hope to get the card today or tomorrow.

You are going to love the pricing of the beef/pork/poultry. Bring a fat wallet, you are going to need it.

Nope. I use my biz atm/credit card

How is the pricing compared....

You are going to love the pricing of the beef/pork/poultry. Bring a fat wallet, you are going to need it.

To a Sams or Costco?

the meat prices and quality are great... and bulk spices are even better.

you need to fill out some other paperwork if you want to write checks... but if you are strickly credit card... you don't ahve to do anything.

I go Brisket hunting weekly at the Depot. Always seem to pickup things there that werent on the shopping list.

You dont need a card if you are going in and paying cash. You ask the girl at the front desk for a day pass.

Hey Tonto,

You will have a membership very soon... Cant say a whole lot more than that right at the moment... think GLBBQA....

i got my membership today. used MO business tax form from my old business. overall i was semi impressed. Packers and BB werent much different in price than sams/costco. The problem is for me, i dont necessarily want to buy 20lbs of chuck at a time. yeah the pricing is $.40/lb better but do i need to spend $40 on chuck right now. it may work if i split some stuff with people.

gotta love all the cheese etc. some neat things though. RO 20lb bags for 6.99

Got my membership for the Ridgefield Rotary Club (they allow service clubs at RD). Have used it for several Rotary events and multiple Q events. Need to know their limitations and what you can use and what you don't really need.

Yours in BBQ,

Cliff
