I am looking for a list of all the different sanctioning bodies and barbeque societies. For instance NEBS. I was hoping to find ones that follow the same meat categories as KCBS. I believe FBA has the same categories. I've heard a bunch mentioned here and hoped anyone involved would post a website or contact.

Thanks in advance.

FBA - Florida BBQ Asociation (Same as KCBS except no Garnish in box and they give you a copy of all scoring by judges for all teams at awards)

Thanks Dan, Big Jim and Diva.

I was able to access the updated FBA info.

PNWBA website has info on 2006. Does anyone know if they have updated their info since?

Dan the website for MABA is incomplete. I am sending a request for info to the Secretary. Do you or anyone else know where I could find the rules governing an MABA sanctioned event?

Any others would be great. I know I have heard at least two more spoken of here. I believe there was one down southeastern other then FBA.

Sanctioning bodies I'm aware of in these parts:

KCBS - 4 meats
Memphis Barbeque Network - pork only
Florida BBQ Association - 4 meats
International Barbeque Cookers Association - 4 meats
South Carolina Barbecue Association - doesn't specify, but primarily pork
Georgia BBQ Association - pork only

CBBQA In Calif
AZBarbeque in AZ
I saw a complete list on the web a while back

MABA variance - no garnish - foil on bottom of box; all scores distributed.

Thank you for that info. Is there any way to get a PDF of the revised rules according to MABA or are these variations listed as an addendum to the current KCBS rules?

I haven't been able to find a website for the AZBBQA. Do you know of a website? Or do you know if they use their own rules or follow KCBS rules?

There was discussion on a possible rules change at the Annual Meeting and the proposal will be put to a vote. Ballots should be coming soon.

The Western Barbecue Assn. (wbbqa) is no more.
