Okay, next weeks throwdown will be potatoes and will include sweet potatoes, yams, any potato products (like hash browns), and also things like potato breads or pancakes.....as long as they are cooked/baked on your cooker.

Anyone know what temp I should cook a potato to, and should I foil it?

I may have to break out my secret weapon, the thirdeye potato baking rack. You don't poke the nail all the way through the raw potato....and when the potato is ready it slips down and the nail pops out the top.

I cook mine on the BGE at 400 degrees for an hour...turning them once after a 1/2 hour...followed by a steak or two! :p The skin is to die for...especially if you rub them with some EVOO and sprinkle with a little salt!

I'm likin' the looks of Wayne's new toy too!

Oh man...........taters!! I likey. Now I gotta think of something. Good choice!

Shucks I was hoping for an Xmas special throwdown with different catagories.
Oh well that's the way it goes.

My wife's wheels are turning, this will be her baby if we get entered.

Baby Red...

OK here goes... smoked a pork loin stuffed with cranberries, apricots, pecans and gorgonzola for Christmas Eve din din... naturally baby red potatoes were one of the sides.

I put them under the roast on the WSM for an hour. Smoked with apple and cherry woods. Used a little EVOO, garlic, salt and pepper.

Has any one smoked a whole baker and had it turn out? I have tried it a couple of times and it is always tough. Any suggestions? Merry Christmas,

Thanks Markbb it tasted better than it looked. Hey where's all the entries?

Not a whole lot to tell. A little kosher salt along with some Tuscan seasoning, drizzled with EVOO and a small pat of butter cooked on the Weber kettle.

Here is a entry. They are Yam Patties with a brown sugar and pecan topping, toasted marshmallows, and drizzled with locally grown honey from Rocheport, Mo. I cooked this on my Treager 075 at 350*F for 40 minutes.

ENJOY!! I DID!
