Yippee!!! I might have to pull a cork to celebrate this challenge.

Thanks to OferL for picking an excellent theme, and thanks to all the voters.... the margin was tight, as it should be.

There was a special feeling in the air for this Throwdown because "Recreating a Childhood BBQ Memory" took me back two generations. It was so fun replicating a meal from 50 years ago, I have a hard time describing it. And honoring my GrandPa with something he loved to cook is icing on the cake.

Oh, he was and more. Here is the earliest cooking photo I have, and Pa was an open pit man. I'm guessing this was taken in the 1930's in Wyoming because during the war he relocated along with his brother to Sour Lake, Texas chasing another oil boom. Maybe chickens or rabbits?
