For smoked bacon wrapped onion rings, what is your preferred onion, thickness of slice and why ... :)
 
I have only done them twice and everyone loved them. I used the sweet yellow onions. They hold up and stay firmer in my opinion. I cut the rings about 3/4" to 1" thick. The sweetness paired well with the bacon too...

I use sweet onions for almost everything. I sliced mine about 1/2" thick. Also, use two rings for each one.
