I do this with wings. Marinate the day before the cook with whatever hot sauce out of the many in my pantry, then hit them with blackening seasoning before they go on the grill.

Never tried Valentino, I will now. It's certainly cheap enough. That looks like the perfect ratio of char/no char on those pieces. Well done, sir.
