natural casing hot dogs have a curve. The curve is because the intestines wrap around in the pigs/sheeps stomach.

Hot dogs made at home with sheep casings have a slight curve but not like a brat or kielbasa. Commercial hotdogs are skinless and made in cellulose casings, cooked/smoked then casings are removed before packaging.
