Are trashed wings just a St. Louis thing or are they in other parts of the country also?

They are just sauced and double fried wings. Season them, fry them, sauce them, re-fry them, saucing after second frying is opt.

They can be found many places around the country and by several different names depending on location.

Correct, I didn't know if they were just local or not.
