For this month's Lazy Man Meal Throwdown I decided to roll with a meal that comes together in less than an hour (or two beers in lazy man time). My assortment of pre-made and pre-packaged items are below. Not shown is some diced onion, diced carrots, and a couple of tablespoons of flour.
At 9°F, it's pretty easy to see which cooker I plan on using.
I went with 400° pit temp, and an indirect set-up. The onions, carrots, potatoes and broth go in first and are cooked almost tender.
Next, the flour goes in for thickening and allowed to reduce a little.
The pot pie filling comes off the Egg, and the peas and canned turkey goes in the Dutch oven which basically rests while the biscuits bake.
I was too lazy to read the distructions.... but I was able to monitor the cook by peeking in the top vent, and they baked until golden.
The only thing left was plating and watching more snow fall... then a nap.
