Thoughts on Smoker Mod

Thoughts on adding a smokestack to this smoker. Currently it has a 5in hole at the top of the vertical chamber. It does have a damper on it. I have yet to even fire up this , still in the restoring stage.

Seconded- Fire the sucker up and see how it drafts.

That whole vertical section will probably be a fine chimney all by itself.

It drafts extremely well just as it is, no need! (OP knows I have an identical unit). Sorry I haven't had much time to write back yet!
