Ceramic smokers as well as pellet smokers can both tend to diminish the smokey taste. It's going to be interesting to see how this works out.

I haven't and any issues with lack of smokey aroma and flavor with any of my kamados so far. I have heard that comment about pellet grills though, but have no first hand experience with it.
