I've had my Stoker for about a year now, and have had pretty good success using it. I have noticed on thing that I wonder if others have also seen. I normally keep the Stoker in my garage where it can stay dry, and run stereo extension cable out to my smoker(s) and use a multiplug (i.e. squid) to split out to multiple probes.
Sometimes, I find that when I use the extension cable, the Stoker can't see the probes. If I plug the probes in directly to the Stoker, it sees them. After this, I can plug the probes back into the extension cable and it still sees them. I'm wondering if I need to go to bigger gauge wire to reduce resistance.
Also, I find that I can't run the 25 CFM blower with an extension cable at all. I'm assuming this is due to resistance in the cable being too high.
Any thoughts?
