Was prepping some steaks last night but found that my favorite container of "dust" was empty. With some assistance from my wife, I threw together some ingredients for a substitute blend from whatever I laid eyes on around the kitchen, and it turned out pretty good:
2T dark brown sugar
2 tsp ancho chile powder
1 tsp instant coffee
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp salt
It was also a good seasoning for mushrooms and vegetables prior to broiling.
