If you haven't entered a throwdown contest yet, they are a lot of fun and win or lose, the results are usually quite tasty

There are about three different ones going on right now, and this one is for the Soups/Stews TD.
I haven't had Brunswick stew for quite a while and decided that it is time to rectify that. Since I already had some pulled pork in the freezer, I just had to add some chicken, which I smoked on my kamado. The recipe that I usually cook tends to be sweet and I didn't want that this time, so I went to the brethren links and found one from Saiko from years back.
I pretty much followed the recipe exactly, except that I have always enjoyed potatoes and lima beans in mine, so I added them in and onto the kamado to simmer for a while. (I wrapped the pot in foil to reduce the smoke on the outside and to reduce my wife's wrath when she found out).
After about 3 hours, it was ready and really exceeded my expectations. It was truly the best I have ever made and possibly the best I have eaten.
Thanks for looking.
