I just saw where it was announced that there will be 101 teams at the contest! All I can say is WOW!

Wish we were going to be there this year, but unfortunately couldn't afford it. Will be wishing you all luck and best partying ever. Stay safe and will be watching for results.

We'll be leaving early this afternoon. I spent the day yesterday at Jamie Geer's in Burleson, TX seasoning the new pit and cooking some chicken and ribs. Many thanks to Jamie for helping me get my meats and wood for the competition. Also thanks to Brenden Stubblefield for his artwork on putting my logo on my pit. Here are a few pics:

What a great weekend. I hope I didn't leave any of the brethren teams out.

Had a great time with everyone.... and great to see everyone getting the calls. One of these days Wayne will teach me the 5th place chicken recipe he has.... :)

Congrats to Rod, and the Early Bird crew. You don't get those calls by luck!!!

Congratulations again Rod on the GC, awesome job! Also congrats to all our other friends called to the stage!
It was, as expected, a premier event drawing 91 teams from many states. And with the huge payout, many of the best teams in the land were there.

With the free admission to the public and the great job of advertising the event by organizer Ronnie Cates of not only the contest, but the hot air balloons, the car show, the huge stage and concerts both nights, and the great weather; the public attendance was huge!

Good friends, good times, and a great contest!
