Wanted to do some beef ribs, but haven't found a source for them. Asked at Costco and Sams..both said no. Asked my local big box grocery and the butcher comes out with a cryovaced package with 4 full bone plates. Says they cut their short ribs from these. I asked him if he would sell me two plates whole and how much would they be?

He goes to check and comes back...tells me $14.95/lb. I said..are you kidding the short ribs are 7.99/lb?!?! He says that's the price for standing short ribs. Told him to pound sand and grabbed two packs of the cut short ribs.

Rubbed with EVOO and Oakridge Black Ops. Haven't tried this on brisket yet but figured it would work on short ribs too.

Shorties look pretty meaty, looking forward to finished pics.

Yikes @ 14.95/lb that's prime ribeye territory
