as the Rib-O-Lator works in to own ring, on top of my UDS, could I not run the Rib-O-Lator in the ring, and the top grate all full of ribs?

Anyone done this?

My R-o-L is also in its own ring that sits atop a drum. Not much room above, but I always have a grate under to catch any falling mishaps. Suppose a few items could go there as well as on the Merry-go-Round.

I drilled holes in the side, shortened and welded in threaded nipples, bolted the motor bracket and rod bracket to the sides.

When done, just use a 3/4" threaded cap, all sealed up for smoking.
