Back in April, I posted my grease fire experience http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25746&highlight=grease+fire. Yesterday, I picked up the pieces from the sandblaster, and began painting the exterior. My question is: Should I paint the interiors? My gut tells me "no" on the cooking chamber and door – leave it bare and season well. But, I'm less inclined to leave the insides of the fire box (and lid) unpainted. I can't for the life of me recall whether these surfaces were painted when new...any help or recommendations?
