These are worth a look. I think better than Amazon offerings. Good quality and the price is very fair IMO.

It looks like all of their skewers are the 1/2" width, and you are good with that width?

With shipping... the 23" X 1/2" wide ones would come in at less than $3.50 each for a set of 10. These are labeled 304 stainless not just "stainless" like other brands which is good, especially if there is any spot welding down the line :biggrin1: The length would still allow forming of a hanging hook OR the end could be drilled and a short S-type hook could be used. With the S-hook I wouldn't have to modify my hook lifting tool either.

1/2" is fine. I think they're about the norm for the ones sold at the mom and pop stores here. I'm guessing my wider skewers I use for ground meat are 1". I'm pretty sure I have 1/2" and 1" er's. I'll measure it tonight when I get home.

You can def customize them to your style. The last set I picked up were longer as well and I had my brother cut and bend the ends into hooks in order to work to spec on the PBC. I use them on my Hunsaker now.

Here are some skewers I made a couple years ago.. 304 stainless 1/2" x 1/8" Flat strap with holes drilled for pins.

The pins work great, and I haven't lost one yet (although I did make a bunch extra because I knew I would lose some.)

Those will last a lifetime for sure, and the rods are a good idea. Saw the spatula in the original thread, nice job!
