Nice! I got mine in the mail the other day, waiting until tomorrow or the next to break it in...keeps us posted on your cook.

That looks like a really nice set up. Have you done any modifications to the silver smoker other than the custom fire grate and expanded metal firebox?

My Brinkmann offset leaks so much that I'm not sure a forced air system would do much good . . . :)

The grate is from a "retired" gas grill. It is heavy duty ...and since there were two I have a spare. The charcoal basket was from a piece of expanded sheet from Home Depot. I also lowered the smokestack to the grate level by adding some flashing rolled up. ...and I added a baffle between the smoke box and fire box by cutting a sheet pan in an arc to restrict the huge hole.

My SS leaks as well but so far so good. The big thing I learned today is to have the smoke stack partially restricted to give the iQ something to "push" against. I will put the fire can on the other side - nearer the smoke box next time to see if there's an improvement/difference.

...not that it needs an improvement. Ribs, Fired Okra, Turnip Greens, Beer, and football. ...It's totally worth it to set it and let it go.

Your silver smoker looks just as beat up as mine! I am refinishing it now and I will have a post and progress on my blog (wrensbbq dot tv). Do you have more pics of how you hooked up the 110 to our offset vents? I wanted to know what adapter to get when I buy one.
