This is my entry for the Beans TD that is going on. I decided to make falafel.

Ingredients

Throw them all in the food processor

Then remove from the food processor into a bowl and add one beaten egg.

Then, mix it up real good and make into little patties and place on a small baking sheet. After all the patties were made, I placed the baking sheet into the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to let them firm up a little bit. After they firmed up, we just waited for TBS in Eleanor and then were were ready to go.

Smoked @350 with Pecan for about 40 minutes.

While the falafel was smoking, I needed to make the sauce.

Almost done

And the money shot:

Mate,

There is an Australian book called....

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/He-Died-Felafel-His-Hand/dp/1875989218/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=&qid="]He Died With a Felafel in His Hand: John Birmingham: 9781875989218: Amazon.com: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41CZA2123VL.@@AMEPARAM@@41CZA2123VL[/ame]

It became a movie too.

Never read the book and I've never seen the movie... BUT...

If I died with that felafel in my hand I'd be a happy man!

Cheers!

Bill

P.S.

I also love the way you thought outside the box for this TD. Brilliant!!

Cheers!

Bill

I love falafel and your entry looks sooo good, I wish I had some right now! I've never thought of cooking falafel over charcoal either, but what a good idea. I love the smoky flavour of tahini, I can only imagine what smoke would do to a falafel. Well done, brother.
