I have been using the Meater Block since it came out. I have had many cooks where I had to install the 4 AA batteries midcook, one probe became unusable, llost two probes, have to place block right against the WSM to keep connected, drains my Iphone in about one hour, will not record low temps I need for making jerky (my main usage).

I am considering the Smoke X4. I am not sure I would be happy with The SIGNAL unit that operates on WIFI. Any help with other units in the $200 range.

Fireboard makes a nice unit. Love the one I have and it’s super intuitive to use.

I use a Thermoworks Signals which works well on both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. I have a probe to give me a "Pit" temp so I can tell when I need to go add a split and probes for Meat when I am cooking something where the IT is meaningful during a cook.
