I would say you nailed it on your first cook. Ive seen worse from guys that have been here for decades. You should definitely pat yourself on the back, you deserve it!
 
Great job on the brisket. Doing a brisket that big on a 22" kettle and it turn out that good is a great accomplishment. Especially for your first brisket.



I wouldn't change a thing on your next one except maybe use some other towels for the rest. Happy wife, happy life you know. YMMV.

Looks better then my first brisket.
And my second (and last so far).
I would not worry over 10-20F diversion on such a low and slow cook.
 
Great post and you’re obviously going to fit in perfectly here. Brisket looks great. My first one was really good too. Unfortunately, I then started to get cocky and things went the wrong direction.

Great job on the table for the kettles too!
