Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them, myself I would just get the stumps, I called in one time to talk about them and stump himself answered all my questions, at the time I went with backwoods more because I just decided on that design.

Spicewine Ironworks is located in Columbia MO which I believe is 2.5Hrs West of St. Louis.

Do yourself a favor before making your final decision. Call Jay Curry at Spicewine. Jay is a long time member here on the Brethren and will be happy to talk to you about his cookers. Jay never advertises his cookers on the Brethren board as he comes here to relax and get away from work.

I have a Large Spicewine and can tell you it is an amazing cooker. You owe it to yourself to at least talk to the Spicewine folks before spending such a large amount on any smoker.

Good luck with your choice.

There are a lot of great smokers in your price range, I'd add Spicewine and Backwoods to your list.

Since you're in Tulsa you might look for a manufacture closer to you to cut down on the shipping costs. I think Spicewine is made in the St. Louis area and Backwoods are made in Louisiana.

You guys don't make it easy, now also considering the stumps stretch and one of the Deep South smokers........the search continues

What I find great about the Deep South is it burns wood like a stick burner. Seriously, the 4 inches of insulation around the charcoal shoot makes a huge difference. Ask anyone who has switched from one gravity fed smoker to a Deep South and they will all tell you it gives more smoke flavor.

Check out Rockin W smokers, here are some pic of there gravity fed cabinets. 4 racks 23" x 31" a 5th rack for water if you want to use it. Tapered charcoal chute 6" insulation around firebox(1"/4 plate) and chute, 2" around cabinet 14 ga exterior, 10 ga interior. They also have a pretty cool optional Guru locker. 800lbs + And cheaper then both those 4500 or 4750 with guru locker. If you want to see them in person, American royal spots G296 and G297. I will also be cooking on one at the Jack... Okay maybe 2 :)

But of the 2 you listed go Humperys but your missing out on a better smoker.

Hard to offend me, and I appreciate other's thoughts. I think I'm just gonna go with the whole "its not the cooker, its the cook" philosophy and move on down the road. Gonna have to decide and then just pull the trigger. I really appreciate all the input Ive received!
