MB560 Randomly Powers off

I have a MB 560 which is a fantastic smoker when it is working. Actually it performs very well with one exception. It will shut off during a cook without any known reason.


This isn't a WiFi disconnect. It literally powers down.


I have considered a possible power interuption as the problem so I set it up to operate with a battery backup. Still does it once or twice on a long cook.


Any ideas guys?

Sounds like internal issue to grill if backup didn't help. Overheating of control board?? I would call them.

Did they include a way to update the firmware?

Sometimes this indicates a shorted/melted wire for the fan. Disconnect the fan when you're not cooking and turn the controller on, then see if the controller powers down

I don't recall if the board has any caps on it but, that could do it. Maybe see if there is one swollen. I can't imagine one burst already but you never know. So far so good with mine. Facebook is the way to go I heard if you need to contact them. Good Luck Alan
