Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I just received in my new maverick in the mail. I already modified it with the holes in the back so I don't have to take the cover off every time I want to turn it off and on. I noticed though that the wires for the probes don't seem to have a "protection" around them and I'm scared that with the lid coming off a couple of times it's going to ware out the wire and eventually clip it.

What can I do to my WSM so It doesn't touch the wire? Any small holes I have to drill some where?

Thanks,

Brian

A couple of these from Home Depot. You can find them in electrical conduit section and they are 3/4", I believe.

No need to visit the bullet forum, BTW. All you need is right here are the brethren site.

Try the Virtual Bullet forum, WSM modifications section. I have been pondering the same thing & I think I may bite the bullet (pun intended) and drill a hole just below the lip.

You may want to invest in the 6' long probes as well. I did that and feed the probe wires through the WSM door.

Yougin most of the pre-made grommets arent big enough to fit the sensor probe of the Mav 732, is that the version you got ? For example, this one http://www.thebbqguru.com/products/E...per-pack).html says right on the website it doesnt work for that probe. This is something I've struggles with for a while, as I dont want to drill holes, and would rather use the existing holes where the grate screws go.

I see your from Miami, you admit to being a Dolphins fan?

I have the 73. Not the 732. I think I'm in luck and I'm ordering the one off of BBQ guru.

I'm a Bears fan through and through. My sons name is Payton. Don't know how much better that really is but at least we show up to the games.

Thanks for ur help. I got a decent size cook out Sunday and I got my new gadgets in this week (a thermapen to go along with the maverick) so I want everything to be right but not break it either.
