Does anyone use maple syrup in their pork butt injection? I tried it this past weekend and the taste was pretty good but the syrup didn't permeate the meat very well, it was very concentrated where I injected it. The wife liked the taste so I'll probably be doing this again but want to find how to get the injection to more of the meat. I injected using the same pattern I use for a competition shoulder(a modified checkerboard).
