How do so many people have shiny looking grill grates? Mine do not stay that way for very long..

I clean them on my grill after cook. I get them screaming hot like 4000 then wire brush & scrub also if I keep them oiled they clean real easy
I heard to use amonia in a plastic bag in the sun let soak, then wipe clean. That old food ain't flavor it poison. Like leaving it on a plate IMO
