Though I've been smoking meat for decades, I don't recall seeing a distinct difference in smoke ring on the same side of a brisket slice. In the photo, the upper left portion of each slice seems to have a different smoke ring than on the right. Am I having an episode of "can't remember chit" or is this weird?

It may just be that one portion was more receptive to smoke than the other, or that in the smoker, the one side that has the thicker smoke ring was exposed to smoke longer than the other side ( better draft, less exposure there). Those are my logical guesses. Other than that, voodoo!
But, I'm with George, looks really nice and moist!

^^^ yeah, all I see is nice brisket. Nature of the beast. Looks like the texture is tighter on the left and looser on the left? All good brisket. Num..num...num.............good brisket.....
