What a timely post. I'm headed to the Atlanta area in a couple of weeks. And one of the good Que joints mentioned in the article, Community Q, happens to be in the town I'll be traveling to. I found my lunch stop! Thanks!

Does Atlanta have BBQ? - yes
Is some of it pretty good? - yes
Is Atlanta a BBQ Capital - HELL NO!!!
It takes a LOT more than a couple Q-joints to make a BBQ Capital!!!
A particular style, history, and recognition by BBQ aficionados is necessary!

I love numbers and data but I don't think bbq joints per capita designates ATL as a bbq capital.

I agree with Tom, there needs to be some bbq history and particular style for it to be a capital.

Doesn't mean there aren't some good places to eat there though

We don't need "Titles" to be happy with just being a great spot for BBQ..

I don't eat the "Titles" LOL
