It is said the Patty Melt was invented in the 40s/50s by Tiny Naylor. I’ve had some pretty good ones.

This one was better.

Looks great. I agree re: the fryer. Mine is a super low end one and it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

what did you use for the bread? I like the flavor of rye but I don't care for the seeds. I'm thinking sour dough, maybe

You can get rye without the caraway seeds. Although it's not as good. :p

What's funny is I went out with some friends for dinner, one ordered a "patty melt", no grilled onions and can I get it on a bun, I don't like the seeds.

Everyone else at the table: Why didn't you just order a cheeseburger?!?!? :noidea:
