crouching tiger
Wandering around with a bag of matchlight, looking for a match.
I'm about 5 months into the joy of owning a pellet smoker for the first time (Traegar Timberline). I absolutely love it, though my wife has just noticed a fair degree of discoloration of the area behind and above it. While it is 'outdoors', it is on a covered deck, the roof of which is operable.
I've had a good scrub of it all with sugar soap, and while most of the harder surfaces (glasss, metal, hard plastic) cleaned up OK, the painted surfaces (mostly cement render, but small amount of painted timber) are proving particularly stubborn.
I would love any advice around:
1. How to clean smoke stains (the yellowy kind) on painted walls
2. How to prevent surfaces getting smoke stains. Would a rangehood/flue be effective? Are there any special coatings that can be put on surfaces to prevent stains from BBQ smoke?
Thanks!
