I have a chance to buy a half cord of cherry wood for $100. Guy will bring to me and stack in my garage. Is this a decent or good deal. How long can I leave it sitting?

If it is green wood it probably won't dry properly in a closed garage. Properly dried cherry will be good for a few years if it isn't sitting directly on damp earth.

Covered with natural air flow and as logs, perhaps one or even two years. Split, six months to a year. Cut into rounds a couple of inches thick, three to six months. Well ventilated fist sized chunks, a month or two. This is in Vermont. Might be faster in warmer Kentucky.
