I took the day off of work today to get some crap done around the house, and my schedule took a hard left turn. I fired up the mini-ugly to do a 6 lb chuckie for dinner, no sooner did I get the meat on this morning, the guys showed up to take down a 50 ft silver maple in my back yard. So I figured I'll just let the mini-uds run on it's own, set it and forget it. I'd rather sacrifice the chuckie, I've been wanting this tree down for a few years now. I've only used this mini-uds 2 times so far since I built it and didn't have high hopes....I had to apologize to my mini. 5-1/2 hours later, when I finally had a chance to check it, it was cruising steady at 230. WOO-HOO!. The chuckie came out perfect, my wife and daughter loved it. Didn't have time to get a lot of pRon shots but I did get a few. Thanks for lookin' and enjoy your weekend!

look close, the crazy s.o.b. is next to the top of the pole and wires...

That chuckie looks Deeeelicious. I hope you have that tree stacked and seasoning hard to beat free Wood.

I'm blessed, I can get all the free wood I need. I never used silver maple, seems kinda soft, but I did save it for the wood stove. is it any good for smoking?

As a woodworker, I'm drooling over both the Chuckie and the free maple. Great food and wood porn!

EDIT: Maple is great for smoking pork. Some like it with chicken too, but I haven't tried it myself.
