when u put oil inside the pit to season it for the first time do u put oil all in the inside of the firebox? also do u put the oil on the grates as well i will be using peanut oil going to season it as i saw from the klose site

I don't oil the firebox, it just burns off. I have gotten my pit hot and put oil all on the outside, but it didn't take long to burn off of the firebox.

Don't do the fire box, and if the grates are stainless don't do them. If they are steel you can do them also. Peanut oil works well.
 
Here is how I seasoned my pit. This process can be done with most styles.
