Beans and cornbread (which implicitly includes fried potatoes/onions and tea) would be a finalist for my "last meal," which hopefully won't be a choice I have to make...
I'm with Kevin... pintos, pan fried potatoes* and cornbread is probably my favorite meal of all time.
* potatoes have be fried in bacon grease, with chopped onions, salt, pepper and garlic.... finished with melted butter- because. No- you surely can't eat this every day- but it is my go to comfort food.
Cornbread crumbled in a bowl with milk. My Mom wants buttermilk on hers, but I want regular milk on mine. I try to take it to her around lunch time at the nursing home.
