The throw downs are a blast, good fun good eats, always. A description can be found here: https://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=294445
For this one, I wanted to do something unique, and this one qualifies for the 'pizza' and the 'from the freezer' throw downs, so I'm grateful anytime I can get a double. This idea hit me today, and I said "this is so 16 Adams", that I just have to dedicate it to him.
First, I pulled the ground beef from the freezer and just like Adam's, from the bargain bin, so we're starting out great.
Chunked up and browning in the skillet, and the ingredients that I added were tomato sauce, tomato paste, chili mix, and Rotel, another Adam's staple.
After I made the chili with no beans, it was time to make my pizza crust....Jiffy cornbread mix, and in fine brethren style, cheese added.
On to the grill to firm up, I used a pizza pan but lined it with foil because if I ruined it, I would have to answer to my wife.
Once firm enough to support the toppings, added chili, more cheese and then cooked until it was ready. I added my Fritos corn chips, sour cream and chopped green onions for garnish. And there you have it, Fritos Chili Pie pizza, straight from the MSU lab!
