I recently read that some guys use Power Washers and/or Weed Burners to Clean BBQ Grill Grates and Smoker Grids.
Power Washers and Weed Burners, if used properly, are good to clean Grids and Grates that come from the factors with Non-Stick, Rust Resistant, Food Grade Coating on them.
Reason Being!
Factory coated Grids and Grates will Not Rust if and when all of the Meat Grease is removed from them.
Rule of Thumb!
When Cleaning Un-Coated Expanded Metal, Carbon Steel Bar Grating, Carbon Steel Knives, Cast Iron, and/or any metal that has Not been coated at the factory with a Non-Stick, Rust Resistant, Food Grade Coating, do NOT remove all of the Meat Grease from it. Unless you immediately Re-Season it with Meat Grease and Heat.
Reason Being!
If and when all of the Meat Grease is removed from Un-Coated Expanded Metal, Carbon Steel Bar Grating, Carbon Steel Knives or Cast Iron, or any metal that has Not been coated at the factory with a Non-Stick, Rust Resistant, Food Grade Coating, It Will Rust.
For Best Results!
Clean Un-Coated Expanded Metal, Carbon Steel Bar Grating, Carbon Steel Knives, Cast Iron, and any metal that has Not been coated at the factory with a Non-Stick, Rust Resistant, Food Grade Coating, the same way you clean Cast Iron. So as to Prevent It From Rusting.
