burn times?

Many lang owner clainm 45 mins a split, is that true if not what is the time you get between adding splits to fire? My splits are 2 to 3 inches wide 12 inches long on reveree flow.i gave 120 gal and greatful to get 20 mins adding split oak and split of cherry to coal bed.

it all depends on how seasoned the wood is and if you got a good bed of coals but sometimes I can get a hour . also thewind blowing too affects the burn time .

IMO your splits are a little small for a 120G cooker.

My splits are usually 16-18" long and beer bottle thick or slightly thicker. Depending on conditions I may add one of two and get 45-75 minutes.

I did not realize how big a 120 gallon was till I googled it , cooker that size you would need full size splits the size of 3 pop cans and the small splits to help keep the big splits going if you do not have a good bed of coals .

18" long about as big around as your leg - unless you are a Fat Guy - then make it the size of your upper arm Or 2 liter bottle size.
