"brown sugar" vs molasses

And not only can I respect that but I can also appreciate it! I'm just to farking lazy to write everything down. :biggrin:
 
I made up the test batch this morning and it worked out just fine. The starting recipe called for 4.5 cups of brown sugar. I cut the sugar down to 2.25 cups of brown sugar and added 2 tablespoons of molasses.

After letting everything cook together for a little while I wasn't quite getting the sweet to hot ratio I wanted. I wanted a good sweet start with a chipotle finish at the end. I was able to add a little turbinado until I got the balance I desired.

All and all I think I got what I wanted.
