Please accept this as my Official entry into the "Tube Steak Boogie Throwdown"

I love Hot Dogs, Sausages, and Charcuterie in general. It is such a broad spectrum that I am constantly challenged to try different things.

I started out with asking my friendly sausage maker to make me 5 lbs of Thuringer German Bratwurst, bulk packed and I stuffed it myself. The entire cook thread can be found here.

And this is my polling picture if you please!

Danke!

Ok. Here goes with my first entry into a throwdown. It coincided with what I was making last night, so I thought why not take a couple of pics and put them up here.

So I started with some brawts I picked up and the local store.

After a little while on the grill, I added some peppers and onions.

Now the brawts are off and the veggies are getting nice and happy.

Once done, back to the kitchen for final assembly and some beer.

What I realized I am not very good about remembering to take pictures as they happen. I was about 30 seconds away from having to submit a half eaten plate.

Thanks for checking it out.

Turducken inspired!

I present the "Lil Smokie, Italian Sausage, Weiner Sammie!" Nearly forgot the MealDeal, which includes a family bag of Lay's chips and a six-pack of Lagunitas IPA.

Thanks to all that took the time to look at this thread...any votes appreciated!

93 vpmod -- I like what you did with the final pictures in that you showed us a shot with the grilled meat naked before covering up with fixin's. Sometimes I struggle to figure out how to show that best. With your naked and dressed versions side by side you've done justice to your cook and given context to the dressed version. Thanks for the tip, I like it.

Medisterpølse, Veggie Scramble, Potatoes & Fresh Bread

Please accept this as my entry into this Throwdown

We often take care of our close friend’s dog when they go away. He is Dutch and allot of times stops in at Solvang coming back from visiting his daughter in Santa Maria. As a thank you one time he brought us back a bunch of Medisterpølse which is a Danish sausage. (These had both Veal & Pork)

Last weekend I cooked breakfast out on the patio again so I used some. Here is my cast of characters: (many of them from my garden)

I started out cooking the Medisterpølse Sous Vide style by placing them into a corning ware container and bring the water up to a boil and then let them sit.

Chopped the onions, bell peppers & potatoes

And into my 12” CI skillet

Now the veggies for the eggs. Onions, Bell peppers, tomato & green onion

These go into my 10” CI skillet

After about a 20 minutes hot water bath the Medisterpølse goes into the skillet with the potatoes
IMG_4174_zpse145e7ac.jpg

While that’s cooking I add 6 eggs to my onions & bell peppers

And while they start cooking I took the fresh bread out of the oven.

Turn the Medisterpølse
IMG_4181_zps42ebf8a4.jpg

Slice the bread
IMG_4179_zps20751b6e.jpg

Scramble the eggs, throw in the tomatoes & green onions and let that cook for 2 minutes
IMG_4182_zps8a03efd3.jpg

And plate it up with some Feta cheese
