I use it on all kinds of stuff that needs salt. I haven't used it in a rub though. It doesn't have enough of a bacon flavor for me. Kosher salt for rubs.
 
i have some in my kitchen now. it's basically a novelty, IMO. it doesnt have much of a bacon flavor, it's just salty. there are much better things to put i a rub......
