I am beyond lealous that you aare able to build a cooker of any type like this. i think it's coming along nicely. Can't to see the first burn:)

Looks like it's going to be an awesome Pit, don't see to many fully insulated offsets here, great job

Can't wait till you post some cooks on it.

Firebox isn't insulated so wouldn't count it as fully insulated, but, for the most part it doesn't get ridiculously cold here so I figured it wasn't necessary

Was gonna buy weld-on hinges but said screw it made my own...door fab done and mounted and works pretty slick with a decent seal already without any high temp gasket yet.

More pics to come later tonight.

Thanks for looking

YOLANDA is almost done baby. Tiny bit more welding and grind a couple welds smooth and cut out the intake on FB door and get some latches for the doors. Probably get everything done Friday maybe....definitely before the weekend is done! And maybe take her for a test drive Saturday afternoon or Sunday.

Then if all goes well and maybe after a few tweaks and adjustments...get some paint on it. I can't hardly stand it, ready to get this baby rolling some TBS!!!!!

Been contemplating sand blasting cook grates or cleaning myself....then I found on the interwebs you can soak them in white vinegar for a day and rust comes right off so I said.....BINGO!!!!!

Can't beat $10 rust removal and pretty painless

I test drove one a little bit and it works phenomenal!!! Post pictures of results tomorrow probably

Cook grates were rusty so a 24 hour soak in white vinegar and a tiny bit of manual wire brush and I got brand new looking cook grates....refer to this trick if u got rust on anything....it works farking spectacular!!!!

Not a good picture of rusty expanded metal but it's there.

AND THE AFTER OF A 24 HOUR SOAK, might be shiny cause I sprayed with cooking oil to prohibit oxidation again.
