Found alot of good suggestions for au jus with the search feature, but was wondering if there is a sub for wine in au jus? Dad has a problem with eating food prepared with wine and I'm doing some crab legs and a ribeye roast for Mothers Day this weekend.

red wine vinegar and grape juice are usually good subs. I think perhaps cranberry juice would work too in a pinch. But grape juice and/or red wine vinegar are what I'd go with.

Wine is usually used for adding flavor and to de-glaze the pan when making the sauce.

If you want to omit the flavor, use use water with a few drops of lemon juice or a few drops of vinegar. You don't want to overpower the taste of the sauce.
