South African Braai Wood

I'd do it, it may be a little different, but it dang sure can't be bad.

I would be all over that, the Camel Thorn reads very well.
 
I only know mopane, but haven't used it for smoking.
It's definitely a hard wood and burns for ever. It can be a bit difficult to light.
We have used it on campfires and tend to start off with making a good fire and then adding mopane logs.
Not sure if this helps in any way...
