I'm wondering if you can run the Vertical just on charcoal if you make a grate. It may be worth the drive to Kentucky.
 
I keep eyeballing the Smokehouse. Love the idea of a vertical stick burner - not so much real estate.
 
I may try the gravity pit again someday. Next time with a temp controller.
